Project Overview:
In 2022, we were tasked with supplying and installing premium commercial-grade white quartz countertops for fourteen apartments including two exclusive penthouses in Crystal Palace, London. These high-end residences were designed with luxury and modernity in mind, making the choice of materials critical to the aesthetic and functional appeal of the space.
Location:
Crystal Palace, London, UK
Development Size:
14 plots, including two penthouses
Material Used:
Commercial-grade white quartz
Scope of Work:
- Supply and installation of white quartz countertops in the kitchens and bathrooms of two penthouses.
- Transportation and lifting of large quartz slabs using a crane to the penthouse levels due to their size and weight.
Project Challenges
Material Selection and Design:
After discussions with architects and developers chose commercial-grade white quartz for its modern design, stain resistance, and durability.
Non-porous, bright surface ideal for kitchens, enhancing natural light and city views.
Logistics and Crane Lifting:
Standard transport methods were used for 12 of the plots however for the penthouses it was impractical due to accessibility and size of the quartz slabs.
We coordinated with a crane operator for safe lifting to penthouse levels, ensuring material protection and minimal disruption.
Timing and Coordination:
Installation timing was crucial; we aligned the quartz delivery with the construction schedule.
Close collaboration with the contractors ensured timely completion of the installation.
Outcome:
The installation of white quartz countertops enhanced the aesthetic and functional appeal of the 14-plots by creating a spacious, light-filled ambiance and providing durability. Despite logistical challenges, the project was completed on time through effective coordination among the team, crane operator, and contractors. Client feedback was positive, with both the developer and buyers appreciating the luxurious finish and long-lasting quality of the quartz, ensuring minimal maintenance for years to come.
